Results

Wolbachia presence Yes
Confidence level Medium
Explanation of confidence level

Ant 1 is thought to be positive due to a faint fragment 600BP in size while the positive Wolbachia control and Wolbachia DNA have a fragment 560BP in size. Due to the short time of electrophoresis, it is difficult to confirm if this fragment is a similar size as theĀ  positive control and Wolbachia DNA. Ant 2 had no banding associated with Wolbachia and thus was negative.

Wolbachia 16S sequence
Arthropod COI sequence
Summary The Arthropoda was found to be postive for Wolbachia.
