Location | |
Collection date | 03/29/2022 |
Captive / Cultivated? | Wild-caught |
Group | KantiWil |
Observations | I found this animal near to an old tree trunk, it was slightly above the ground. |
Putative identification | Arthropoda Hexapoda Insecta Diptera Bombyliidae |
Methods |
|
Extraction kit | Instagene Matrix |
DNA extraction location | Abdomen |
Single or Duplex PCR | Duplex Reaction |
Gel electrophoresis system | Standard electrophoresis system |
Buffer | TAE |
DNA stain | SYBR Safe |
Gel images |
|
Protocol notes | Everything worked well. The extraktion was a bit difficult because I needed to figure out, where the sex organs are located. However the elektrophoresis worked well. |
Results |
|
Wolbachia presence | Yes |
Confidence level | High |
Explanation of confidence level | Two bands are quite clearly evident. The upper band proves that it had animal material in the DNA, the lower band proves the Wolbachia in the DNA. |
