Methods |
|
| Extraction kit | DNeasy (Qiagen) blood and tissue kit |
| DNA extraction location | Whole arthropod |
| Single or Duplex PCR | |
| Gel electrophoresis system | MiniPCR |
| Buffer | TBE |
| DNA stain | GelGreen |
| Gel images |
|
| Protocol notes | There was air bubbles during the extraction process |
Results |
|
| Wolbachia presence | Unknown |
| Confidence level | Medium |
| Explanation of confidence level | My confidence level is medium due to the arthropod negative control testing positive for arthropod. Another reason for my lower confidence is that my Arthropod tested negative for arthropod DNA. I believe there was a cross contamination during the PCR process and DNA that got into the negative control became amplified. |
