Observations | Found under a log. Contains multiple legs. Red spots on it, brown colored body. 2 cm long. No antennae. 40 legs. 19 segments. White legs. *Initial identification is Euryurus leachii, however after Blast, the identification is Euryrurs orestes. |
Putative identification | Arthropoda Myriapoda Diplopoda Polydesmida Euryuridae Euryurus Euryurus leachii |
Methods |
|
Extraction kit | DNeasy (Qiagen) blood and tissue kit |
DNA extraction location | Abdomen |
Single or Duplex PCR | |
Gel electrophoresis system | MiniPCR |
Buffer | TBE |
DNA stain | GelGreen |
Gel images |
|
Protocol notes | Cut in the 3rd section of the Euryurys leachii to obtain the reproductive organs. Gel electrophoresis did not work as well as predicted. |
Results |
|
Wolbachia presence | Unknown |
Confidence level | High |
Explanation of confidence level | The gel for Wolbachia did not run, therefore it is inconclusive if the arthropod has Wolbachia or not. |
