| Putative identification | Arthropoda Insecta Hymenoptera Formicidae Formica |
Methods |
|
| Extraction kit | DNeasy (Qiagen) blood and tissue kit |
| DNA extraction location | Whole arthropod |
| Single or Duplex PCR | |
| Gel electrophoresis system | MiniPCR |
| Buffer | TBE |
| DNA stain | GelGreen |

| Protocol notes | Ran 10 uL load for 20 minutes. |
Results |
|
| Wolbachia presence | No |
| Confidence level | Low |
| Explanation of confidence level | My gel electrophoresis had a lot of data that didn’t belong (e.g. DNA contamination in water well in second row and arthropod positive control might not have worked for my ant samples.) Negative arthropod control showed lots of DNA bands, and no bands for Wolbachia PCR showed up for any samples. |
