Results |
|
| Wolbachia presence | No |
| Confidence level | High |
| Explanation of confidence level | I am very confident in my results. All the controls showed up in the correct way. A water band did not show in either gel so there is no contamination. The positive DNA control showed in both gels proving that PCR worked correctly. Also, the positive and negative controls worked correctly. Since the Hemiptera showed up in the arthropod gel, we know the DNA extraction worked. Since it showed up in the arthropod, all the controls were correct, and there was no band in the wolbachia gel, I am confident that my results are correct. This means that the Hemiptera is not infected with wolbachia. |
