Under some stones in the snow, next to a house wall. Ground: earth. There was a small pond and a tree nearby.

Explanation of confidence level

No DNA was detected in the GEL electrophoresis (neither from the arthropod nor from Wolbachia). This therefore indicates an error.

The negative control worked, but the positive one did not. The DNA control also failed. No DNA was detected in Porcellio scaber (neither arthropod DNA nor Wolbachia DNA).
It is therefore concluded that something went wrong. It is not possible to determine exactly what went wrong, because, on the one hand, various steps worked for some samples but not for others; on the other hand, various steps must not have worked properly, as both the positive control and the (+) DNA control failed, but the (+) DNA control was only added at a later stage.
