Protocol notes

The whole of the arthropod was crushed up to extract DNA. None of our wolbachia samples showed visible bands, which may imply that no DNA was amplified or something else went wrong during our protocol.

Results

Wolbachia presence Unknown
Confidence level High
Explanation of confidence level

Our CO1 lanes all showed visible bands, meaning that DNA was amplified yet the negative control lane also shows a clear band, meaning that cross contamination occured. Also no Wolbachia lanes showed visible bands so it is unclear whether the pillbug contains Wolbachia or not.
