Observations

This arthropod was the furthest away from the water compared to the other samples, Wascana Wet and Wascana Dry. It was found on concrete tiles, not grass. In the environment this arthropod was found in, there were other ant species present, a phenomenon which was not observed in the other locations (Wascana Wet & Wascana Dry). There were also caterpillars present. We found this arthropod eating a dead caterpillar.

Results

Wolbachia presence Yes
Confidence level Medium
Explanation of confidence level

Confidence level is medium because one of our two positive controls showed a band. Our negative control behaved as expected and did not show a band.
All of the controls in our arthropod gel behaved exactly as expected.

Wolbachia 16S sequence
Arthropod COI sequence
Summary The Lasius neoniger was found to be postive for Wolbachia.
