Protocol notes

To collect the sample, I removed the abdomen from the thorax of the butterfly using a scalpel.

I did not need to dilute my sample, and it produced a 260/280 ratio of 1.67 with 73.839 ng/uL of nucleic acid.

My sample is the third sample from the left, and does not exhibit a Wolbachia band.

Results

Wolbachia presence No
Confidence level High
Explanation of confidence level

The Arthropod was visually identified as male and did not exhibit the phenotypical traits of a Wolbachia-positive Lepidoptera (feminization). Additionally, the gel results show single bands that do not cross the threshold, demonstrating a negative result for Wolbachia.
