Protocol notes | DNA extraction: The dobsonfly’s abdomen was extracted to use for the DNA sample. Gel electrophoresis lanes: Lane 1: 10kb DNA Ladder Analysis: Sample A-2 tested negative for arthropod DNA, which means an error occurred with that DNA sample somewhere in this process or one of the earlier processes. We know we can trust our results have no contamination because our controls tested correctly. |

|
Wolbachia presence | Unknown |
Confidence level | High |
Explanation of confidence level | Since the dobsonfly sample tested negative for arthropod DNA, it is unknown whether or not the dobsonfly is infected with Wolbachia. |
