Results

Wolbachia presence No
Confidence level High
Explanation of confidence level

The gels showed the following results:

  • A band was present at the expected band size for the arthropod (Co1) gene at 708pb for the + and – Drosophila control samples and for the DNA control. This band was absent for the negative control.
  • The was also the presence of the Wolbachia (16S rRNA) band at 438bp for the +Drosophila control and DNA control samples. This band was absent in the negative control.

Since the expected bands were present for the specific controls, we are confident that our results are valid.

Wolbachia 16S sequence
Arthropod COI sequence
Summary The Chilopoda was found to be negative for Wolbachia.
