  • Was located under dirt and actively moving around, occasionally going under the leaves and dirt. Has a body bigger than the average black carpenter ant with a large abdomen.

The controls in the gel had a faint band which could suggest the possibility of the controls not working, so the bands may have been an outlier that doesn’t necessarily correspond to the DNA ladder since the ladder didn’t properly show up either.
