Protocol notes

The protocol that was used is the DNA Extraction Qiagen Dneasy with a slight change when performing the washes, instead of using AW1, AW2 was used for both washes.

Lane 1: DNA Template

Lane 2: Insect- Hymenoptera

Lane 3: (+) control

Lane 4: (-) control

Lane 5: Water

Results

Wolbachia presence No
Confidence level High
Explanation of confidence level

Confidence level is high because the protocol was followed step by step besides the wash part, which is not very likely to have an impact on the results obtained in the gel electrophoresis.

Wolbachia 16S sequence
Arthropod COI sequence
Summary The Geotrupidae was found to be negative for Wolbachia.
