Protocol notes | Dirt had fallen into our agarose gel during our gel electrophoresis reaction which was testing for arthropod. All of our test results were weak or absent so we believe the dirt could have played a role in contamination of our experiment. |

|
Wolbachia presence | Yes |
Confidence level | Medium |
Explanation of confidence level | While the garden ant did have a clear positive result for wolbachia, it did not test positive for arthropod. All of the arthropod results were either faint or completely. We believe our gel may have been punctured by the micropipette tips during dispersion. |

Summary | The Lasius niger was found to be postive for Wolbachia. |
